GMC Canyon AT4 OVERLANDX Off-Road Concept Unveiled

AT4 OVERLANDX | Clinton Township, MI

Overlanding is popular with outdoorsy types who modify their trucks to make them suitable vessels for camping and off-roading. It’s a natural fit for the flexible GMC Canyon. The Canyon is already beloved amongst the off-road community for its agile handling and capable AT4 trim, so GMC decided to take it up a notch with its brand new AT4 OVERLANDX concept.

The Canyon AT4 OVERLANDX off-road concept truck completely transforms the Canyon you know and love into a muscular, multi-functional pickup perfect for overlanders. The concept truck is equipped with integrated front recovery points, cast-iron control arms, an off-road rocker panel protector, guy lines to protect the windshield, and a heavy-duty front bumper with a winch. The conceptual Canyon takes design cues from the existing AT4 trim.

GMC equipped the Canyon AT4 OVERLANDX with a 3.6-liter V6 engine and an eight-speed automatic transmission, but the automaker also recommended useful modifications like a 270-degree awning, solar panel, kitchenette, and roof-mounted tent to completely customize the rig. As-is, the Canyon AT4 OVERLANDX can ford up to 32.1 inches of water, has a 27.7-degree approach angle, and boasts 10 inches of ground clearance.

While the AT4 OVERLANDX trim is just a dream right now, you can visit Jim Causley GMC in Clinton Township, Michigan, to browse our off-road capable Canyon inventory today.
