Four Buick models already boast a built-in Amazon Alexa™ feature, allowing drivers to access information, ask questions, and get directions on the go. This innovative collaboration between Buick and Amazon was on full display in a recent promotional campaign.
The late August to mid-September promotion ran across several platforms and in a virtual showroom on Amazon, where the phrase, “Alexa™, tell me about Buick SUVs” was said for the first time. Buick is the only automaker to have a custom utterance from the interface.
The campaign served dual purposes — to highlight the collaboration between the retail giant and Buick and inspire people to see Buick in a new light.
“Getting people to think differently about Buick is a motivation behind everything we do. We are a brand that’s not afraid to take risks and have some fun,” said Buick Advertising/Media Operations manager Kate Hrabovsky.
The campaign was aptly timed to showcase the all-new 2021 Buick Envision, an SUV overflowing with cutting-edge tech, comfort amenities, and athletic design. It’s also the latest model to deliver the convenience of Amazon Alexa™ to drivers. The 2020 Buick Encore GX and 2020 Enclave also feature the connectivity tech, as do the 2018 LaCrosse and 2018 Regal.
According to Hrabovsky, this is not the last time Buick and Amazon will team up; more initiatives and projects are in the works.
