If you work for General Motors (or are related to someone who is), the GM Employee Discount includes a range of perks and special deals that you won’t find elsewhere. There’s a GM Extended Family Card, a GM Accessories Employee Discount, a Certified Service Discount, and more. In short, you or your GM employee can find special deals for every step of the car-buying process. Whether you’re looking for small accessories or you’re buying a new GMC, using your employee discount will save you money.
According to GM, employees and eligible family members can use a GM Employee Discount to buy or lease an eligible, new Chevy, Buick, GMC, or Cadillac vehicle at a discounted price below the MSRP. The list below shows everyone who’s eligible:
- Any active GM employee
- Their spouse, children (and stepchildren), grandchildren, grandparents, parents, siblings, in-laws, aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews.
- Retired and former hourly or salaried GM employees
- Widows and widowers of former GM employees
- And employees, retirees, and surviving spouses of eligible divested companies and other organizations
Most new and used 2019 and 2018 GM cars, SUVs, trucks, and vans are eligible for discounts. In order to use the special discounts and rewards, you’ll need to obtain an authorization number and then take that to your local GM dealership. Simply select “GM Employee Discount” from the Programs menu on the GM Family First website, and select “Get Authorization Number.”
If you have any questions about this process, please contact us at Jim Causley and let us know you’re eligible for a GM discount.
